Greetings from Sanctuary! We are a passionate group of students who are committed to defending the diversity and beauty of North American bird species. Birds have vital roles in our ecosystem, from the majestic bald eagle to the delicate hummingbird, we feel it is our duty to protect them for the enjoyment of future generations. Our Mission
Through our powerful youth-led leadership, support from the Illinois Ornithological Society & collaboration with the esteemed Illinois Audubon Society - Sanctuary For The Skies has established Sanctuaries across the Midwest, provided refuge for over 30 bird species, engaged thousands on social media, and is at the forefront of conservation and advocacy internationally.
Birds
Sanctuaries are designed with recommendations from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology to provide food, water and shelter for their avian guests.
Plants
Plants are sourced from local nurseries and are always Native to the Americas to promote biodiversity and preservation of our natural heritage.
Youth
As the future stewards of avian and ecological conservation, Sanctuary For The Skies leads workshops and activities to empower youth with conservation knowledge and expierence.
